The SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) was set up to drive Ireland's sustainable energy transformation and a part of their role is the provision of grants and supports to citizens, communities and businesses.
There are three main grants available from the SEAI:
National Home Energy Upgrade Scheme
Complete one stop shop home energy upgrade
One Stop Shop services for homes | Home Energy Grants | SEAI
How to apply:
- Contact an SEAI registered One Stop Shop
Choose from SEAI registered list and find out if your home is eligible. SEAI recommends shopping around for the best quote.
- Carry out a Home Energy Assessment
For homeowners considering multiple energy upgrades and applying for a One Stop Shop service, a home energy assessment is useful as it provides a detailed report detailing energy upgrades needed to get your home to a B2 rating or better.
- Start your upgrade
Once you’re happy with your options and quote, your One Stop Shop puts a contract in place and manages the work from start to finish. Grants are deducted upfront from the cost of works.
Better Energy Homes and Solar PV
Individual energy upgrades
Individual Energy Upgrade Grants | Home Energy Grants | SEAI
How to apply:
If you are unsure where to start, SEAI recommends a BER assessment. This will give you the information you need to begin your home energy upgrades as it tells you how energy efficient your home is
Option 1
Apply yourself:
Choose an SEAI registered contractor and apply for the grant online. The grant is paid directly to you or the contractor once the works are complete and the relevant documents have been submitted.
Option 2
Choose an SEAI registered One Stop Shop:
Participating One Stop Shops can now apply and manage individual energy upgrades on your behalf, meaning less administration and the grant is deducted from the cost of the works upfront.
Warmer Homes Scheme
