Notice of Adoption of Amendment No. 1 to the Leixlip Local Area Plan 2020-2023 (as extended to 2026)
Pursuant to Section 20 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 (as amended) Kildare County Council at its meeting held on Monday, 25th March 2024 made the following resolution to amend the Leixlip Local Area Plan 2020-2023 (as extended to 2006):
'Having considered the Proposed Amendment No. 1 of the Leixlip Local Area Plan 2020-2023 (as extended) (the Confey Masterplan) and the Chief Executive's Report on Submissions of the 24th February 2024 and the Chief Executive's Meeting Report dated 20th March 2024 in relation to the Proposed Amendment No. 1 of the Leixlip Local Area Plan 2020-2023 (as extended) (the Confey Masterplan) and pursuant to Section 20 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended), incorporating the amendments proposed and agreed by the Members that the Proposed Amendment No. 1 of the Leixlip Local Area Plan 2020-2023 (as extended) (the Confey Masterplan) be made.
Amendment No. 1 to the Leixlip Local Area Plan 2020 - 2023 (as extended to 2026) (The Confey Masterplan) came into effect on the 6th May 2024.
Extension of Local Area Plan
Extension of Leixlip Local Area Plan 2020 - 2023 to 30th March 2026 (inclusive)
In accordance with Section 19 of the Planning & Development Act 2000, as amended, the Members of Kildare County Council at the October Council meeting on Monday 24th October 2022 adopted the following resolution for the Leixlip Local Area Plan 2020 – 2023;
To extend the life of the Leixlip Local Area Plan 2020-2023 by a further 3 years (i.e. up to 30th March 2026), in accordance with the provision of Section 19 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 (as amended), and defer the sending of a notice under Section 20(3)(a)(i) and publishing a notice under section 20(3)(a)(ii) of the Act for that 3 years. The extension of the LAP is sought in order to provide certainty and opportunity to realise the strategic objectives of the Leixlip Local Area Plan 2020-2023, which are in accordance with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area’.
Adopted Local Area Plan
The Leixlip Local Area Plan 2020 - 2023 was adopted by the Members of Kildare County Council at a special meeting held on Monday 16th December 2019. Please note that this L.A.P. will be in force for a period of 3 years from 2020 – 2023.
