Kildare County Council’s Response to Storm Éowyn
27th January 2025: Kildare County Council's Crisis Management Team met this morning to review the ongoing issues in the county caused by storm Éowyn. Our outdoor workers and Parks teams worked across the weekend to clear fallen trees on priority routes. While much of this work is now complete, there are still trees down in housing estates and on some minor roads. Our teams will continue to work to remove trees and debris throughout the week.
Many houses, particularly in the Northwest of the county, remain without power and water. The areas around Clogherinkoe and Clonuff are particularly affected. Clogherinkoe GAA club will open this evening at 19:00 hrs to provide residents with a place to charge phones, get hot drinks and avail of shower facilities. We extend our gratitude to the club members and officials for their support during this challenging time.
