Yellow Weather Warning for County Kildare
Officials from Kildare County Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team (SWAT) met this afternoon following attendance at a briefing with Met Eireann and the National Directorate for Fire and Emergency Management today, concerning the upcoming weather, particularly regarding Storm Kathleen.
A status yellow wind warning has been issued for County Kildare, valid from 05:00 Saturday 6th April until 20:00 Saturday 6th April.
The public is advised to take precautions during these times and to expect difficult travelling conditions, the possibility of fallen trees and flying debris as trees are in full leaf.
In addition to this, the storm may also bring localised heavy showers, which in turn may lead to surface flooding in urban locations. Drivers are advised not to drive through flooded roads as the depth of the water can be deceiving.
The warnings may be revised and the most accurate weather information for Kildare is available at www.met.ie and across their social media channels and other news media outlets.
