Kildare Town Community Library Re-Opens after Refurbishment
6th June 2024: Kildare Town Library has reopened today, Thursday 6 June after a major refurbishment of the windows, staff facilities, and new flooring. These works were necessary for Health & Safety reasons and to improve functionality and have given a wonderful lift to the library which was originally opened in 2010.
Library staff are pleased to welcome back all patrons, including students from local schools and community groups, such as the craft groups, book clubs, and Ciorcal Comhrá.
The library is open from 9.30am to 5pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 1pm to 8pm on Thursdays, and from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm, on Saturdays.
A huge thank you to our other branches who maintained service to our patrons as well as Kildare Town Heritage Centre and Áras Bhríde. While access to our digitised collections provided service 24/7 in the interim, we are preparing for a huge number of visits over the next month as people come back to borrow and browse and return their loaned items.
Staff are gearing up for the regular school visits, workshops, talks and classes as patrons return to enjoy the safe, welcoming space that is Kildare Town Community Library. For some it is a place to indulge their passions, for others a lifeline to community, information and support.
Kildare County Council and Kildare Library Services would like to thank the Management Company of Kildare Town Shopping Centre and other tenants and residents as well as the people of Kildare Town for their patience while the essential works were completed. We look forward to seeing you all in the library over the coming weeks.
