Temporary Closing of Roads

Kildare County Council gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994 that it intends to close the following roads on Tuesday, 22 August 2023 to Friday, 13 October 2023 to facilitate road maintenance and improvement works.

Traffic travelling westward, proceed along the L8042 to its junction with the L8049 and turn right. Proceed to junction with the R418 and turn right. Proceed along the R418 through Kilkea to its junction with the L8079 and turn right. |

Alternative Routes: VIA; 1. R418 – N78 2. N78 – R418 Traffic travelling on the R418 towards Athy, proceed to Athy with its junction with the N78 turn right. Proceed along the N78 through the roundabout continuing along the N78 to its junction with the L4008. Traffic travelling on the N78 towards Athy, stay on the N78 into Athy to its junction with the R418 and turn left, and proceed to its junction with the L4008. |

Procced along the L4007 to its junction with the L8069. Traffic travelling northwards on the L4007 stay on the L4007 to its junction with the L8067 and turn left and proceed to its junction with the L8069. |

Alternative Routes: VIA; 1. L8102 – L8038 – L8039 – L8045 2. L8045 – L8039 – L8038 – L8102 Traffic travelling towards Moone proceed along the L8054 and turn left onto the L8039. Proceed along the L8039 and turn left onto the L8038 into Timolin. Then turn left onto the L8102 back to Moone. Traffic travelling from Moone proceed into Timolin. Turn right onto the L8038 keep right onto the L8039, keep right onto the L8045 to Killelan. |

Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána. Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained.
Any objections/observations should be lodged in writing to the A/Senior Executive Officer, Transport, Mobility and Open Spaces, Kildare County Council, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare or directly on the consultation portal at https://consult.kildarecoco.ie/en on or before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, 07 August 2023.
