Kildare County Council invites singers to join ‘One Voice Singers - Kildare’
A new multicultural community singing group in Kildare Town
Kildare County Council is pleased to partner with the One Town One Voice initiative in establishing a multicultural singing group to reflect cultural diversity in Kildare town.
The One Town One Voice initiative seeks to establish secular community singing groups made up of Irish people and those who have moved to towns in Kildare from other countries in recent years.
‘The One Voice Singers - Kildare’ aims to be a true community group, led by members of the community, in partnership with the community. The goal is to enable and encourage connections between people who might otherwise not meet or would not feel part of the same community, and then to help those connections flourish, all while having great musical fun!
The singing group is open to all (no audition required!) and seeking a diverse membership that reflects the beautiful cultural diversity of Kildare Town (ages 18+).
The group will meet on Monday nights from 7:30-8:30pm starting April 17th, at Kildare Community Development Centre, Meadow Road, Kildare Town. The first night will kick off with some singing and an info session, with plenty of singing and socialising in the weeks to follow.
Anyone interested in singing alongside your fellow community members can via the online registration form - register here or come along on the night.
The group is seeking a Musical Lead, as well as community volunteers interested in helping organisationally or with member recruitment. If you are interested, please contact Carmel Cashin at ccashin@kildarecoco.ie or phone 087 721 2966.
