Kildare County Council, on behalf of Irish Water, gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994 that it intends to close the following roads for five consecutive days during the period commencing Saturday, 1 April 2023 to Sunday, 16 April 2023 to facilitate installation of pipework.
Advance notification of start date will be provided. Roads will be opened early if works are completed early.

Alternative Routes: Eastbound vehicles travelling on the R403 from Celbridge to Leixlip via Barnhall Road (R404) will be diverted straight ahead at Young’s Cross to the Lucan Road Roundabout. They will take the first exit (R148) through Leixlip Village and onto Station Road as far as Galvin’s Cross. From there, traffic will turn left onto the R404 where local access will be permitted beyond Barnhall Roundabout. Westbound vehicles on the R403, N4 and eastbound vehicles on the M4 and R148 will be diverted west on the R148 via Leixlip Village as far as Galvin’s Cross. From there traffic will turn left onto the R404 where local access will be permitted beyond Barnhall Roundabout. Southbound vehicles on the R404 from Station Road, Leixlip to Celbridge via Barnhall Road (R404) will be diverted northbound on the R404 to Galvin’s Cross and right onto the R148 through Leixlip Village to the Lucan Road Roundabout. From here traffic travelling to Celbridge will take the second exit to the R403 which passes Young’s Cross and into Celbridge. Pedestrian and cycle access between the R403 and R404 will be maintained.

Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána. Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained.
