Kildare County Council gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994 that it intends to close the following roads between 21:00 hrs and 06:00 hrs Monday to Saturday during the period commencing, Monday, 10 July 2023 until Friday, 21 July 2023 to facilitate carriageway re-surfacing works.
Advance notification of start date will be provided. Roads will be opened early if works are completed early.

Alternative Routes: Vehicles intending to travel south across Cope Bridge will be diverted west on the L1015 to the junction with the R157 Dunboyne-Maynooth Road. From there traffic will be directed south on the R157 to its junction with the R148 Maynooth-Leixlip Road. Traffic will then be directed east from here towards Leixlip on the R148 as far as the junction with Leixlip Main Street and the south end of the R149 where the diversion will end. Vehicles intending to travel north across Cope Bridge will be diverted south on the R149 Captain’s Hill to its junction with the R148 Leixlip-Maynooth Road. From there traffic will be directed west on the R148 to its junction with the R157 Maynooth-Dunboyne Road. Traffic will then be directed north on the R157 as far as its junction with the L1015 where the diversion will end. Local residential access will be maintained. Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána. Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained. Any objections/observations should be lodged in writing to the A/Senior Executive Officer, Roads, Transportation and Public Safety, Level 4, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare or directly on the consultation portal at https://consult.kildarecoco.ie/en on or before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, 27 March 2023. |
