Subscribe to Free Kildare County Council Alerts Service with MapAlerter.ie
2nd April 2025: Kildare County Council is inviting the public to sign up for a free alerts service that allows subscribers to receive important notifications from Kildare County Council. Kildare County Council has partnered with the MapAlerter.ie service to provide targeted messages to subscribers, which can be received via email and/or text message.
These alerts will include information on weather warnings, road closures, updates on public consultations and planning applications in your local area. Subscribers can log onto the website or the app and choose to receive an update, such as, weather warnings for the county, road closures planned in their area, or new planning applications submitted or decided in their locality.
Welcoming the initiative, the Cathaoirleach of the County of Kildare, Cllr Kevin Duffy said: “Communicating with our communities in a prompt way is vital. While updates on our website and on social media are effective to a degree, this service ensures that a message lands directly to a mobile phone at the time when its needed and contributes to getting updates directly to the people of the county, related to the areas where they live”.
Welcoming the service, Sonya Kavanagh, Chief Executive, Kildare County Council added: “The service has the capacity to complement existing communications through the media and social media. I would encourage everyone to log onto https://kildare.mapalerter.com/register and to sign up for this free service”.
