Kildare County Council utilizes various social media platforms to communicate with customers and stakeholders.  Please note that these pages are not monitored 24/7 and should not be used to report emergencies.

This policy outlines the criteria for participation in postings and published commentary on any of the Kildare County Council social media sites, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, BlueSky and LinkedIn.

Kildare County Council is not responsible for content posted by members of the public.

 

Prohibited Content

Kildare County Council reserves the right to remove comments or content that include:

  • Profane language or content
  • Sexual content or links to sexual content
  • Information that may compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems
  • Content that promotes, fosters or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, colour, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability or sexual orientation
  • Comments not topically related to the particular site or article being commented upon
  • Content that violates a legal ownership interest of any other party
  • Content that expresses political bias
  • Content in breach of the principles of any of Kildare County Council’s policies and procedures
  • Proprietary or confidential information
  • Commercially sensitive information
  • Intellectual property
