Municipal Burial Registers

Kildare County Archives currently holds records for 20 municipal burial grounds. These consist of interment registers, registers of purchases of graves and cash books. Some documents have access restrictions. Access to restricted material is at the discretion of the Archivist in line with any legal or statutory obligations such as privacy, data protection or copyright legislation/regulations, as well as the physical condition of the document being requested, and deposit conditions.

A transcript or copy of a burial record can be provided on request. The deceased's name and date of death, and likely cemetery of interment must be provided in order for us to look up a burial record. Contact: archives@kildarecoco.ie

The following interment registers have been digitised and can be viewed via the links below. A number of the registers contain parchment paper pages and are semi-translucent; the text on the underside of some pages is visible and some entries may be difficult to read or indecipherable.  Some registers contain only one or two pages.
