Local Studies
Local Studies has an extensive range of books, journals, newspapers, photographs, postcards, maps, audio-visual material (including oral history recordings) and ephemera. Material published about or by people in Co. Kildare is the focus of the collection though it also includes works on Irish history, including a large amount of books published before 1850. Books and periodicals in the collection can be searched for via the online library catalogue

Free access is available in all branch libraries in County Kildare and in Kildare County Archives and Local Studies, Harbour View, Naas.
The Irish Newspaper Archive includes a range of national and regional newspapers, including Kildare Nationalist (formerly The Nationalist & Leinster Times), Leinster Express, Irish Independent, Freeman's Journal, Irish Press, and Leinster Leader (1880-1929). The Radical Newspaper Archive includes over 100 political and radical newspapers and other regular publications.

Includes a large selection of Irish, English, Welsh and Scottish newspapers. It also includes the Leinster Leader (1884-1889 & 1925-1955).
