Do I Qualify for a Grant?
With the different grants available from the SEAI, it may get confusing for you to find out what you qualify for. This SEAI webpage has a list of the grants available with the eligibility and criteria for each one.
Below are the three different types of grants available from the SEAI along with a summary of their eligibility
National Home Energy Upgrade Scheme
Complete Home Energy Upgrade
Eligibility:
1. Homes must be built and occupied before 2011
2. Home have an existing BER of B3 or lower
3. Home has not previously received grants for same upgrade
Better Energy Homes and Solar PV
Individual Energy Upgrades
Eligibility:
1. Homes must be built and occupied:
- Before 2011 for insulation and heating controls
- Before 2021 for heat pumps and renewable system
2. Works must be completed by SEAI registered contractors or participating One Stops Shops.
Warmer Homes Scheme
Fully Funded Energy Upgrades
Eligibility:
1. Own and live in your own home
2. Home was built and occupied before 2006
3. Are in receipt of one of the following social welfare payments:
- Fuel Allowance as part of the National Fuel Scheme
- Jobseeker’s Allowance for over six months and have a child under seven years of age
- Working Family Payment
- One-Parent Family Payment
- Domiciliary Care Allowance
- Carer’s Allowance and live with the person you are caring for
- Disability Allowance for over six months and have a child under seven years of age.
