How do I Vote


In order to be able to vote at an election or referendum in Ireland, a person's name must be entered on the register of electors for the locality in which the elector ordinarily resides.

A person eligible to vote but not yet registered as an elector still has time to apply for entry in the register of electors for the upcoming electoral events that are due to take place on Friday 7th June 2024. 

Last Date for applications to register to vote on Friday 7th June 2024 is now closed

Applications for Special/Postal Votes to vote on Friday 7th June 2024 is now closed.


Local Election 2024 – Polling Cards

The deadline for applying to join the Register of Electors passed on May 20, 2024.

Polling cards have issued for all persons on the Register of Electors as of 7 May 2024.

However, if you don’t receive this card, but are on the Register, you can still present to vote.

People should use to check if they are registered and if you locate your registration, you can see the name and location of your polling station.

If a person cannot find themselves on the Register call 045 980 201.  

When you attend to vote, ensure you bring a valid form of personal identification, information at

A second batch of polling cards will issue in late May for applications made between May 7 and May 20, 2024, and which have been added to the Register.

These persons will receive a Polling Card during the first week of June, prior to Polling Day, June 7.
