If you are approved for Social Housing Supports and availing of the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) or Rental Accommodation Scheme (RAS), you can post in your termination notice (NTQ) or email to hap@kildarecoco.ie or ras@kildarecoco.ie with reference ‘Housing – Notice to Quit’ with your full name, address, PPSN, contact phone number and email address. The HAP/RAS Team will validate the NTQ.
What to do if you are Social Housing Applicant and you receive a notice to quit from your landlord?
If you are a social housing applicant served a valid NTQ, and your private landlord wants to sell the home you are renting to the Local Authority, the landlord can contact the Acquisition Team via email at housingacquisitions@kildarecoco.ie to express their interest.
You can email a copy of your Notice to Quit to the Housing Assessments Team housingassessments@kildarecoco.ie to be validated.
What to do if you are a tenant of a private rented property who is not a Social Housing Applicant, and you receive a notice to quit from your landlord?
If you are a private rented tenant and not a social housing applicant, you can contact the Homeless Team to be assessed @ 045-980230. If you qualify for the Cost Rental Tenant in Situ Scheme, the Local Authority will give your information to the Housing Agency along with details about the rental property. The Housing Agency will work with you and the Landlord to try to buy the property. See below link for details:
