Projects and Works Programme
Each year the Parks Section carry out a programme of works throughout the county. The type of works varies from routine maintenance works, small scale landscaping works like landscaping roundabouts to the planning, design and construction of new parks and play facilities around the county. The choice of projects choosen each year reflect requests from Councillors and community organisations and residents around the county. The programme is presented to each of the Municipal Areas at the start of each year.
The works are funded from a variety of sources. These are the County Councils revenue budget which is mainly used to fund maintenance of existing facilities. Development Levies and Local Property Tax are used to fund new recreational and amenity facilities such as parks and playgrounds and improvements works to existing recreational and amenity facilities.
