Notice of Public Consultation on Draft Noise Action Plan 2024 in respect of the Dublin Agglomeration*
The Public Consultation Phase for the draft ‘Dublin Agglomeration (*general urban area) Noise Action Plan 2024’ commences on 12 April 2024 and ends 24 May 2024.
The main purpose of the Plan is to inform and consult the public about exposure to noise from major roads, commercial /industrial sites, other agglomeration criteria and the measures that will be considered to address these issues. (The plan excludes noise from domestic activities, noise created by neighbours, noise at workplaces, noise from construction projects or noise inside a means of transport.)
For the first time, the draft Dublin Agglomeration Noise Action Plan includes the urban areas of Leixlip and Celbridge. The reason for including these areas is to ensure the continuity of noise mapping considering the proximity of Celbridge and Leixlip to the general urban area of Dublin. The draft plan has been put together by the local authorities of the Dublin Agglomeration (Dublin City Council, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, Fingal County Council, South Dublin County Council, Wicklow County Council and Kildare County Council).
On this basis, Kildare County Council invites submissions from the public on the draft Dublin Agglomeration Noise Action Plan 2024 via the link below.
The draft Plan and associated maps will be available for viewing between Friday 12 April 2024 and 24 May 2024 in the following locations:
