Bus Stepdown Areas
Bus Stepdown areas are designated for the sole use of buses to set down to allow passengers dis/embark the bus and are usually marked with a road marking and sign.
Bus Bay Road Marking
Other vehicles parking in a bus stepdown area obstructs the normal flow of traffic and causes congestion. Vehicles which block bus stepdown areas can cause serious road safety issues to bus and other road users. If a bus bay is blocked passengers may have to dis/embark on the street, this can cause difficulty to wheelchair and other uses of special needs and accessibility issues. It is an offence to park in a bus stepdown area.
