2023-2027 LEADER Programme

🌱 LEADER Programme 2023–2027 in Kildare
Empowering Communities. Supporting Rural Development.
The Kildare Local Community Development Committee (LCDC), in partnership with County Kildare Leader Partnership, is responsible for the delivery of the 2023–2027 LEADER Programme across County Kildare.
🧭 How It Works
Decisions on LEADER funding are made locally by a network of Local Action Groups (LAGs). These groups are made up of public and private community members, working together under a community-led Local Development Strategy (LDS).
💡 What Is LEADER?
LEADER is a European Union initiative supporting community-led development in rural areas, delivered locally in Ireland through Local Action Groups (LAGs). Funded by the EU and the Irish Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, it provides grant aid to projects and enterprises focused on economic growth, job creation, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability in rural communities.
It aligns with Specific Objective 8 of the CAP Strategic Plan:
Promoting employment, growth, gender equality, social inclusion, and sustainable local development—including circular bio-economy and sustainable forestry.
🌍 Our Vision for Kildare
We envision a more inclusive and vibrant county, where every citizen—young and old—can actively participate in the civic, economic, social, and cultural life of their community.
