Social Inclusion & Community Activation Programme (SICAP)
SICAP is a social inclusion programme that focuses on the most marginalised members of Irish society. The programme provides funding to tackle poverty and social exclusion at a local level, through local engagement and partnerships between disadvantaged individuals, community organisations and public sector agencies. The current SICAP Programme 2018-2022 was extended to December 31st 2023 and preparations are underway for SICAP 2024+
SICAP 2018-2022 is overseen and monitored by Kildare LCDC and implemented by County Kildare LEADER Partnership CLG. SICAP is informed by the Kildare LECP plan and responds to priority social inclusion issues highlighted in the county. For further information on SICAP activities, please visit www.countykildarelp.ie
SICAP provides a range of supports to targeted individuals and groups including:
- Community development support for projects and participation
- Educational supports for children, families and young people
- Training and Education
- Enterprise Supports
- Work placement programmes
- Youth employment supports
