About Us
Kildare Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) was established in May 2014 under the Local Government Act 2014. It brings together 19 members from both statutory (government) and non-statutory (community and voluntary) organisations.
Kildare County Council is responsible for setting up and supporting the LCDC.
What We Do
Kildare LCDC works to identify and respond to the key needs of communities across the county. We bring together:
- Local authority members and staff
- State agencies
- Community, economic, cultural, and environmental groups
Together, we agree on priorities for County Kildare and collaborate to address them.
We lead the development of the community section of the Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP). This plan shapes our work and guides how we deliver or coordinate community-focused actions.
We also oversee the delivery of several national programmes and initiatives that support local development.
